Quick answer · What is Tear Trough Fillers?
Tear trough fillers are injections of soft hyaluronic acid into the groove running from the inner corner of the eye towards the cheek. Filling this groove reduces the shadow that makes eyes look tired. Placement is usually deep and by cannula, as the area has delicate blood vessels. A session takes about 20–30 minutes, with mild swelling for a few days, and results usually last 9–12 months or longer.

How it works
Bridging the groove beneath the eye
The tear trough is a natural groove where the lower eyelid meets the cheek, and it deepens as volume is lost. A small amount of soft, low-swelling gel placed deep by cannula smooths the transition so light no longer pools in shadow. The under-eye area has delicate blood vessels, so careful technique, usually by cannula, is important. A rare but serious risk is filler entering a blood vessel; hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed.
-
Careful assessment
Your doctor checks whether a groove, eye bags or pigmentation is the cause, then applies numbing cream.
-
Deep cannula placement
Tiny amounts of soft filler are placed deep along the groove, slowly and conservatively.
-
Settle & review
The groove looks smoother straight away; the final result is clearer after one to two weeks.
Before & after
