How it works
Choosing the right filler for each area
Fillers differ in firmness, cohesivity and how much they lift. Firmer gels suit structural areas such as the chin and jawline, while softer gels suit the lips and under-eyes. Your doctor chooses the product, depth and needle or cannula technique for each area, and hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed.

Which filler area should I start with?
That depends on your proportions and what bothers you most. Many patients start with one or two areas, such as the chin or under-eyes, and your doctor will advise where a small amount makes the biggest difference.
Are dermal fillers safe?
Hyaluronic acid fillers have a long safety record when injected by trained doctors. Bruising and swelling are common; rare but serious risks include injection into a blood vessel, which is why anatomy, technique and immediate access to hyaluronidase matter.
Can hyaluronic acid filler be dissolved?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can usually be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if you are unhappy with the result or a complication occurs. This reversibility is one reason HA is the most common filler type.
How long do fillers last?
It depends on the area and product. Lip filler often lasts around 6–12 months, while chin, cheek and jawline filler may last 12–18 months or longer.
