How it works
Switching off the signal to sweat glands
Sweat glands are activated by acetylcholine released from nearby nerves. Botulinum toxin placed in the skin blocks this signal, so the glands in the treated area produce far less sweat. The rest of your body still sweats normally to control temperature.
