Quick answer · What is RF Lifting?
RF lifting is a non-surgical treatment that uses radiofrequency energy to heat the dermis. The heat contracts existing collagen for an immediate firming effect and stimulates new collagen and elastin over the following months. Devices such as Thermage FLX use built-in cooling to protect the surface. Sessions typically take 30–60 minutes with no downtime, and results build over two to six months.

How it works
Even, volumetric heat for skin quality and firmness
Radiofrequency heats tissue by its electrical resistance rather than by absorbing light, so it is not dependent on skin colour. The energy spreads through the dermis, tightening collagen fibres and prompting fibroblasts to build new ones. It is especially good for crepey texture and fine lines, and is often paired with focused ultrasound when deeper lift is needed.

Skin assessment
Your doctor checks laxity and skin thickness, chooses the RF device and marks the treatment grid.
-
RF pulses
The cooled tip delivers short pulses of heat, square by square. You feel warmth that is adjusted to your comfort.
-
Collagen remodelling
Skin often looks smoother the same day, with tightening continuing as new collagen forms over several months.

FAQ
RF Lifting questions we hear every day
Does RF lifting hurt?
Most patients feel pulses of deep warmth. Cooling, vibration and adjustable energy keep it comfortable, and numbing cream is available.
How is RF lifting different from HIFU?
Radiofrequency heats the dermis broadly to tighten and smooth, while HIFU lifting focuses ultrasound at deeper points for lift. They are often combined for both effects.
When will I see results?
Skin can look smoother straight away, and the main tightening builds over two to six months as new collagen forms.
How long do results last?
With premium monopolar RF such as Thermage, results typically last around a year. Lighter RF treatments are usually repeated more often as a course.
Is there downtime?
Usually none. Slight redness may last a few hours, and makeup can normally be worn the same day.
How much does RF lifting cost in Myeongdong?
Price depends on the device, the area and the number of shots. The same price list applies to every nationality and is given to you in writing before treatment. See our lifting price list.
